Regenerative and Transplantation Medicine in Ophthalmology

This joint course organized by the Narayana Nethralaya hospital in Bangalore, India, and the DBRM Research School covers key concepts in translational research from the basic science laboratory to the ophthalmology clinic. After the completed course, the students should be able to describe the foundations of regenerative medicine and stem cell biology and their application in ophthalmology, such as through transplantation biology and tissue engineering. The students should be able to describe and understand the theoretical basis for some of the key technologies used in stem cell biology, tissue engineering and cell transplantation biology.
