September 3 2012 - January, 2013

This advanced theoretical and experimental course is open to students interested in the area of stem cell biology and regenerative medicine. After the course, the students should know the basics of stem cell biology and the medical use of cell therapy. The students should be able to apply and understand the theoretical basis for key technologies utilized in stem cell research. The course covers key concepts in translational research from the laboratory to the clinic.

The course consists of lectures, seminars, group discussions, training in writing grant applications and a practical experimental project or a practically orienteed assay writing project carried out at a stem cell research laboratory.

The course is organized by the research school of DBRM (Developmental Biology For Regenerative Medicine, www.dbrm.se). The center and the research school are funded by the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet, www.vr.se).

The course venue is CMB (Department of Cell and molecular Biology, www.ki.se/cmb), von Eulers v 3. See interactive map of Solna campus.
