UniGene - EST expression analysis
Notch1 ................................................................................................................................. Notch2
Notch3 ................................................................................................................................. Notch4
VisiGene- in-situ data
E3.5 ICM restricted expression - not correlating with Unigene...
High-throughput screen for genes predominantly expressed in the ICM of mouse blastocysts by whole mount in situ hybridization., 2006, Yoshikawa T.,Piao Y.,Zhong J.,Matoba R.,Carter M.G.,Wang Y.,Goldberg I.,Ko M.S.,
E7.5 embryonic ectoderm and mesoderm restricted - not correlating with Unigene....
Expression pattern of Motch, a mouse homolog of Drosophila Notch, suggests an important role in early postimplantation mouse development., 1992, Del Amo F.F.,Smith D.E.,Swiatek P.J.,Gendron-Maguire M.,Greenspan R.J.,McMahon A.P.,Gridley T.,
Notes: am, amnion; e, embryonic ectoderm; ec, ectoplacental cone; ee, extra-embryonic ectoderm; m, mesoderm; ps, primitive streak
E8.5 - trunk paraxial mesenchyme restricted
The secretory protein Sec8 is required for paraxial mesoderm formation in the mouse., 1997, Friedrich G.A.,Hildebrand J.D.,Soriano P.,
MGI - in-situ, PCR, western, immunohistochemistry
gives stage specific and structure specific information, same data as visiGENE plus more!
Notch1
J:93160 Cormier S, Gene Expr Patterns 2004 Oct;4(6):713-7,
MGI Accession ID: MGI:3513872
GNF Symatlas - missing a lot of information at this stage?? stage specific information though based on a median....little confusing also
GEO , Array Express - microarray expression data, relative not absolute, difficult for 'normal people' to access information...?
Notch3 expressed from 4 cell to early blastocyst....??
Tian Wang; Karolina Piotrowska; Maria Ciemerych; Ljiljana Milenkovic; Matthew Scott; Ronald Davis; Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz. A genome-wide study of gene activity reveals developmental signalling pathways active before implantation.

Summary
Conclusion -
Which source to trust???
Why would notch be expressed if there was no function? Is there protein expressed?? (currently no good technology for high throughput protein analysis..) Though preimplantation development and gastrulation occur 'normally' in knockouts, embryo size is compromised and the tissues are a mess at death E11.5. Needs more investigation!!
